Haiti Quake causes pause in everyday events.

What do you say when a disaster strikes killing over 50,000 people? You slow down to take stock of whats important to you. On Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 04:53:10 PM 15 miles WSW of PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti a Magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck killing over 50,000 people and causing severe damage and casualties. I come on my show every week and admonish Corporate America for its careless greed and the destructive nature of its own greed, but then something like this happens and you have to really take a strong look at your own vision and intentions. You will notice that on the main page there are links to donate to the Relief efforts in Haiti. Take time to give a little and speed the recovery of this already impoverished Country.

Starting research

Now that I have established that I need a checklist, I have started research for the next weeks show. I had originally planned to discuss Troop Levels overseas but due to all the technical issues I was having I cut the show short. This week Ill have plenty of fall back material to support the discussion. In addition I have elected to look for a producer to assist with the show. This came about when I spoke to a nice guy who has been in the business for a while and shared his thoughts on where I could take the show. Also this week you may have noticed some ads here and there on the site. I decided it was time to try and generate some revenue from the site as I feel more comfortable with the site design and functionality. Ill soon be adding a Photo page in an attempt to add more content to the site.

Tonight we got all set up to broadcast with no issues...so I thought. The Broadcast went very smooth all the way up to the point where someone tried to call in. Well this is where the wheels fell off the wagon. In my effort not to miss anything I realized that as the call came through I lost the feed. The call was through Skype. In looking at the settings I didnt have the correct sound card selected which crashed and froze everything. So with this in mind I set off to reboot taking me off the air for 5 and a half minutes. Once back up I checked the settings and we were good to go to broadcast again. Back on the air and back into the topic at hand we got a call from a listener and IT WORKED! imagin that. So a checklist is what ill be making to ensure that all the steps needed prior to the show are taken. Oh yea I forgot to record the show til I got back on so there is another one for the list. All I can say in closing is that is was a horrible run but alot was learned from it and we will do better next week.
